Like all the other recent remasters of Phil Collins' catalog, the 2nd disc is a major disappointment. However, I'm still giving this 5 stars just because the original album is so incredible. I haven't listened to No Jacket Required in awhile just because the disc was so outdated in its sound. But the remastering is amazing on this re-release/5().

No Jacket Required is the third solo studio album by English drummer and singer-songwriter Phil Collins. It was originally released on 18 February on Virgin (UK and Ireland), Atlantic (US and Canada), and WEA (rest of the world). It features guest backing vocalists, including Helen Terry, Peter Gabriel and elorarenformo.wforheartdinetpmingbersivabitguepandall.coer: Phil Collins, Hugh Padgham.

May 16,  · Collins, up to this point in his solo career, tended to vacillate between reverential ‘60s-retro homage and modern production techniques, No Jacket Required, however, easily fused the two into a glitzy Motown-meets-MTV sound every bit as funky and frisky as what pop juggernauts like Madonna, Prince, and Michael Jackson were pumping out at the time. On irresistible opener “Sussudio” /5(K).

No Jacket Required did nothing to stem the tide of all-Phil-all-the-time playlists--which is fine, considering that overall, it's likely his best solo effort, ranging from the engaging rockers "I Don't Wanna Know," "Don't Lose My Number," and the silly Prince rewrite "Sussudio" to heartfelt ballads such as "One More Night" and "Long Long Way to Go," which features a vocal cameo /5().

The song is the first track on Collins' third solo studio album, No Jacket Required, released in February of the same year. The song entered frequent rotation on MTV in May; by 6 July both single and album reached No. 1 on their respective US Billboard charts. The song peaked at No. 12 in the UK Singles Chart.
