Jun 02,  · referencing Radio Ethiopia, LP, Album, 1C If you hear closely to the Music you will hear sounds from Stooges, MC5 and others. Don´t think that this has much to do with Punkrock, Garage describes it better/5(K).

Despite nonexistent airplay, it sold well enough to climb into the Top follow-up, Radio Ethiopia, was credited to the Patti Smith Group, and placed some of Smith's most straightforward rock songs ("Ask the Angels," "Pumping (My Heart)" directly alongside some of her most experimental, free-form pieces (the title track).

The key tracks on Radio Ethiopia are "Ain't It Strange" (Track 2) and "Radio Ethiopia/Abyssinia" (Tracks 7 and 8). The former is a "heavy" downtown semi-reggae cut that, as another reviewer pointed out, is Smith's reenactment of the Tower of Babel story; pounding on the doors of Heaven with the full fury of rock 'n' roll/5(70).
